Job Role: Ocean Import Operator
Location: Northampton
Salary: GBP23,000 to GBP27,000
All Sales Recruitment Ltd are looking to speak with an Ocean Import Operator to join a freight and logistics client based in Northampton.
The client started as a family owned business around 10 years ago and excelled to the point of being bought out by a global company two years ago. They still stick with the ethos of a family business and are looking for the right person to join the imports team
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the custom clearing procedure. The prime purpose is to manage the off loading of containers, scanning cleared cartons and loading onto trailers.
This will be an end yo end operations role and will include customs entries. You will have a great working knowledge of ocean freight operations and day to day activities including taking bookings, negotiating rates,customs entries, haulage and invoicing.
Skills and Experience Required
Experience working ocean imports in a freight forwarding environment
Able to take a job from A-Z managing any issues along the way
Experience completing customs entries from start to finish
Good knowledge of the customs tariff
Understanding of Excel spreadsheets
