Zinc Consult is currently looking for a assistant quantity surveyor for our Teesside office. The successful candidate will support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the successful candidates will include:
* Providing accurate commercial and cost management advice and reporting to our clients
* Leading or supporting the successful delivery of projects and commissions
* Setting objectives and priorities whether working independently or as a proactive team player
* Ensuring all information is available for the successful completion of projects/commissions; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control
* Undertaking service delivery with minimal supervision and guidance
* Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
* Providing commercial management support to the broader project team
* Developing strong collaborative relationships with client and clients' supply chain staff that will support the achievement of project goals
* Negotiating and corresponding with clients
* Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner
Qualifications
Requirements:
* Relevant educational background including degree or apprenticeship
* Professional institution membership (CICES, RICS, ICE, etc), qualified or working towards qualification
* A minimum of five years' experience in relevant sectors
* Technical delivery experience gained on civil engineering projects
* Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills
* Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
* A team player with a 'can-do' attitude
