The Manor House & Ashbury Hotels: -

• We are two Sport, Craft and Spa Hotels, located just outside of Okehampton in Devon, UK.
• Our Ashbury Hotel is also the 9th largest golf resort in the world!
• Be part of our team of 200+ staff.
• The hotels normally keep good occupancy year around and therefore we can offer a stable and reliable working environment.
• The majority of our kitchen staff have been with is for 10+ years, some have been with us for 25+ years.
• Initially we are looking for full-time workers to help us from our planned re-opening date in mid-May, through to the end of October 2021, but there is potential for permanent positions for outstanding performers.

Accommodation can be provided: -

• Single en-suite rooms available (communal lounge, kitchen and laundry facilities - GBP40 per week rent, all bills included).
• Double en-suite rooms available for 'couples' ((communal lounge, kitchen and laundry facilities - GBP30 each per week rent, all bills included).
• The staff Block has recently been refurbished and is in good condition.

Duties: -

• Breakfast Chef duties - cooking 'full English' items for Hotel Guests (buffet service as opposed to 'cook to order').
• Preparing sauces and gravies for evening meals.
• Cooking main buffet items (for lunch/evening meals)
• Buffet preparation
• A la carte & omelette orders
• Seeing in deliveries & stock rotation
• Keeping a clean/safe working area
• Once trained, potentially supervising more junior kitchen staff

Hours: -

• FULL-TIME - Shift Work. Normal working week will be 5 days, although 4-6 may be required depending on hotel occupancy.
• Due to the nature of the job it will include regular weekend shifts as well as midweek, and some evenings when required (higher rate of pay for weekend shifts as incentive), but the focus currently is breakfast shifts, which are generally 6.00am-2.30pm/3.00pm.

Rate of Pay: -

• Rates would be discussed subject to experience/ability but we would expect applicants to earn between GBP21,500 and GBP24,000 per annum.

Person Specification: -

• Fast worker - essential, as we cater for large numbers when the hotels are busy.
• Looking for an honest, hardworking individual.
• Someone who is flexible in terms of working hours.
• Previous kitchen experience essential.
