To be part of team which is responsible for maintaining security and a safe environment for Charterhouse.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility will be to protect people in the community followed by the protection of buildings and property by:-

• Providing uniformed high-profile security.
• Internal policing of school grounds which hold approximately 90 buildings. As well as lock up, buildings are re-checked for fire and security
• Stopping and checking of unknown persons/vehicles or pupils 24/7. Pupils after 2200h.
• Carrying out traffic duties: vehicle check points. Point duty. Traffic Management.
• Providing regular high profile mobile patrols.
• Use of CCTV /ANPR systems for investigations
• Barrier Management
• Maintaining a daily note book and occurrence log using the Security Helpdesk system, reporting all incidents on the Helpdesk system. There is also a certain amount of necessary paperwork each shift.
• Assisting in fire equipment checks and fire safety procedures (some minor servicing/renewal tasks).
• Assisting with the sorting and delivery of pupil parcels.

Building on the success of our mixed Sixth Form, the School is moving to full coeducation from the age of 13. We look forward to welcoming our first girls into Year 9 in September 2021, the year in which we will celebrate half a century of girls at Charterhouse. There will be girls in every year group from September 2023.

The pupil roll will grow over the next decade from 800 today to around 1,000, with the increase representing additional places for girls. All pupils are boarders, except for about 25 day boarders
