Harrogate Borough Council are currently recruiting for the exciting opportunity of Duty Manager at Knaresborough Pool. This position will be a Full-Time role, working 37 hours a week.
The hours available are on a two-week rota between 06:00 am and 22:00. Full training on the front of house software will be provided.
Salary: GBP24,982 to GBP27,041 per annum
Duty Manager Duties
We are looking for an enthusiastic, helpful and confident Duty Manager (DM) to drive Knaresborough Pool forward and be part of the operational DM team responsible for delivering a high level of service across the facility.
Duty Managers undertake the day-to-day operational management of the facility and must be able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment. As a Duty Manager reporting to the Senior Operations Managers you will have various management responsibilities including the Health & Safety of Customers, Marketing and Programming, Customer Care, Staff Supervision, Staff Training, Aquatics Development
You will need to demonstrate excellent organisation skills, be sensitive to customer needs and have a thorough understanding of the health and safety issues that relate to a busy leisure centre. You must have some experience in the management of a large leisure facility together with the ability to communicate with and supervise a large and varied staff team.
In joining the team you will be part of a transformational journey for the sport, leisure, and active lifestyle services involving a GBP40miilion investment package to transform facilities and the introduction of exciting new service developments. On 1st August 2021 the service will move to a new Local Authority Controlled Company, Brimhams Active, and you will be helping to deliver the Vision of "A healthier more active population living longer, more independent and happier lives." On this date, this role will transfer to Brimhams Active Limited under TUPE on the current terms of employment, a period of continuous employment would be preserved including membership of the North Yorkshire Pension Fund.
Duty Manager Requirements
You should have a further qualification in leisure or a related field, a current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification and ideally a recognised aquatics teaching qualification.
A First Aid at Work certificate, Pool Plant Operators certificate, RLSS Trainer Assessor qualification and working knowledge of IT systems are desirable.
You must be able to work as part of a team and maintain the high standards of customer care already established. You will be expected to prioritise and plan your work effectively and efficiently.
