Prospero's client provide high quality lighting, audio, video and scenic solutions to the live events industry. Their clients rely on them to deliver bespoke production solutions to a wide range of prestige live events across the UK & Europe. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join their set & staging team based in Hertfordshire as CNC & Laser Cutter Operator.
The role will involve interpreting working drawings and briefs to set, program and operate our large format 3 axis CNC machine and laser cutter. You should have an excellent working knowledge of construction techniques and proven experience working with CNC machines. A familiarity with VCarve, Autocad and Lightburn software packages would be beneficial but full training will be provided.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, eloquent and able to work well as part of a wider team or using their own initiative. You must be keen to learn and develop your expertise continually, meticulous and thorough in your work and have excellent interpersonal skills. Due to the nature of the live events industry working hours will be varied and will include evening and weekend work. Schedules can be subject to change at short notice and a flexible attitude to working hours will be essential.
A full driving license will be extremely beneficial.

Job Specification:
•Interpret working drawings & briefs accurately and efficiently
•Program & toolpath projects as required from digital drawings
•Load and unload material onto the machines maintaining a clean and organised working environment
•Clean cut elements following machining in readiness for assembly
•Maintain CNC & laser machinery and tooling in a proactive fashion to maximise uptime
•Assist with general carpentry and construction tasks when required
•Operate specific items of machinery in-line with company procedures
•Manage own workload appropriately and seek assistance when required
•Maintain excellent time-keeping and work to deadlines
•Maintain all tools and workshop facilities in an appropriate manner
•Report all damages, losses or breakages to the Workshop Manager in a timely manner
