Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Production Technician to join an Industry leading company with over 75 years experience.

PURPOSE OF ROLE:
Undertake electro/mechanical assembly of a range of products. Assembly is typically undertaken from
drawings and a bill of materials. Custom products will require the individual to work with others to
determine a layout. Product testing will also be required for products manufactured by others.

JOB TASKS:
• Undertake the assembly and modification of electrical panels to meet contract /
customer & engineer requirements;
• Assemble and inspect new infra-red based refrigerant leak detection systems and
their associated products;
• Ability to read, understand and work from engineering drawings, schematics,
sketches, photographs and verbal instructions;
• Undertake electrical and mechanical assemblies, to include marking, cutting, drilling
and tapping sheet metal and other materials. As well as cutting, crimping, soldering
and terminating cables between 0.2mm and 1.5mm.
• Ability to perform production tasks in different batch sizes across the different
product ranges.
• Actively promote the Company's commitment to total quality, positive environmental
development and health and safety standards, ensuring consideration for self and
others within the working environment.

QUALITY:
• Maintain company quality control procedures;
• Attention to detail when assembling products to meet the required standards;
• Ability to inspect others work to assess for high quality standards.
• Highlight any potential errors in drawings or Bills of materials.

HEALTH, SAFETY & WELLBEING:
• Comply with statutory, Company and regulatory H&S rules and regulations;
• Ensure correct PPE is worn / used when required in accordance with Company
requirements;
• Operate in a safe manner ensuring environment is suitable for self and others at all
times;
• Liaise with the H&S representative on matters as required;
• Escalate issues which cannot be resolved locally, to next in line and H&S
representative;
• Attend all toolbox talks, as required by the H&S representative.

SELF:
• Maintain and develop own skills and experience as required;
• Undertake training as required to obtain new skills and techniques to support
continuous improvement & development of the department and job role;
• Be able to meet customer and in-house deadlines;
• Must be computer literate, comfortable using MS Office;
• Take ownership and aim to constantly exceed identified objectives;
• Display appropriate standards of behaviour, and uphold ethics, values & promotion
of equal opportunities.

SALARY:
GBP25,000 - 26,000 - 37.5 hours per week
