GPS have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Tendering Engineer who is interested in making their mark within our growing family business. Reporting to the Tendering Manager, you will assist in the production tenders that meet the clients' requirements. You will also be accountable for the commercial and financial aspects of those tenders, whilst ensuring that all company policies and procedures are maintained throughout.
Key duties & responsibilities include:
* Preparing tender documentation including, but not limited to, cost summary sheets, offer letters, offer presentations and approval documentation.
* Submitting completed tender proposals to meet customer deadlines.
* Take full ownership for the various projects assigned to you.
* Assist in the delivery of the full Transmission & Distribution product portfolio for substations within the UK
* Become a key member of the pre-construction team.
* Provide indicative pricing support for the Business Development Team.
* Build and maintain pricing / estimating databases and ensure outturn costs are captured and fed back through the system.
* Liaise with supply chain for pricing purposes, develop and maintain relationships.
* Provide detailed feedback to supply chain.
* Identify opportunity and risk during the tender process.
* Maintain a register of key assumptions within estimates and pricing.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Commercial Acumen.
* Degree or HNC / HND in Engineering (advantageous but not essential).
* Self-motivation and total commitment to deadlines.
* MS Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Full and Valid Driving License (preferable but not essential).
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* High Voltage Substation Experience
* NEBOSH
* Power Cables Installation Experience
* Association to Professional body
* Power Industry Experience
