The College offers a range of teaching, business support and Apprenticeship opportunities. So if you want to be rewarded well for investing in people’s futures - we want to hear from you!

In addition to your salary you can expect a generous annual leave entitlement (pro rata for this part-time role) inclusive of Bank Holidays and College closure days over the festive period. You will also receive generous contributions towards your pension, CPD opportunities, and exclusive access to discounts at various UK attractions, restaurants, travel and theatre.

We are seeking to appoint an Exam Concession Tutor to join our small, friendly team of specialists assessing students for access arrangements, within the wider Learning

Support Team across both FE and HE. As this is a specialist post, any candidate must have a relevant certificate in psychometric testing, or a level 7 Dyslexia/SpLD qualification which enables you to carry out specialist assessments including the report Form 8.

The post requires 288 hrs worked, on a flexible basis, across the academic year. It is anticipated that most of the hours will be worked during the first part of an academic year (front loaded) but the team assesses students across the year.

In your role you will complete full Exam Access Arrangement Assessments, and so you will need to be able to build relationships with students to enable this. You will have experience of working within the education sector, and be able to fully utilise your existing certificate in psychometric testing, or a level 7 Dyslexia/SpLD and be familiar with JCQ regulations.

You will be able to plan and manage your own workload, and your good communication skills will enable you to relate to our students, and liaise with colleagues, parents and carers. With your expertise in assessment and reasonable adjustment you may be asked to advise our teaching teams to underpin their knowledge of our students and young adults academic needs which will support students’ progression and engagement through their learning journey.

As one of the country’s largest providers of quality education and training, our team of over 600 talented staff support over 12,000 students each year and each plays a part in making City College Plymouth a nationally recognised learning environment.

City College Plymouth is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The College is an equal opportunities employer.
