The Recipe
Are you a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager with experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment and ready for your next challenge? This fantastic opportunity is available due to an internal secondment shortly coming to an end, we will be looking to you to continue to develop the engagement and embed the Safety culture and to support our Health and Safety strategy.
Based in our Burnley bakery your remit will cover the manufacturing and distribution functions across the North West. Working alongside our General Manager as part of the site leadership team your role will be to promote and strengthen our existing health and safety culture. With a natural energy and infectious enthusiasm, you'll make a difference with your ability to contribute to the national HSE agenda with the Head of HSE and to influence and lead the health, safety and environment agenda at site.

Key Accountabilities and Measures
With an engaging style and an excellent understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental requirements, you will be responsible for ensuring site progress in line with the national safety agenda. Crucially, you will be a real team player with excellent communication skills who can build and maintain good relationships to drive the safety and environment agenda forward. Your expertise will support you as the site safety and environmental lead for site specific projects / installations where you will provide advice and guidance. You will also be responsible for the line management and development of the HSE Advisor on site.
Due to the requirements and responsibilities of the role we will be looking for you to hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and ideally an IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management or Foundation level however experience of working on a permitted site or knowledge of environmental systems would also be taken into consideration.
Essential Ingredients
* Experience in a Health & Safety Manager role, ideally within a fast-paced manufacturing environment (FMCG)
* NEBOSH diploma or equivalent
* Experience of driving a safety culture through recognised channels
* Excellent understanding, through previous experience, of all aspects of Health, Safety & Environment (including legislation, audit handling and management systems)
