Brand new opportunity for an Engineer with Controls & Automation background to take on a Tendering & Proposals Management role within an established systems integrator due to drastic increase in workload.
A specialist in the design and implementation of Automation, Control & Information Systems to a wide range of industries, they provide control solutions incorporating AC/DC Variable Speed Drives, PLC & SCADA software, safety controls, network switches and LV switchgear. Panels range from simple, single installations to complex panel suites.
Daily Responsibilities will include
* Producing bespoke tender from customer specification or site visit and subsequent discussion
* Tender for manufacture of control panels, associated software and control engineering content
* Develop and retain customer/ supplier relationships
* Working with customers and in house project teams to develop detailed project tenders
* Follow up tender submissions via telephone call to the customer
* Site visits to potential and existing customers for sales purposes
* Assist in the production of sales and marketing material
Ideal candidates will have experience of the Automation industry and have previous experience of tendering/ proposals management. Candidates should have the ability to produce tender from customer specification or site visit discussion and hold experience with systems including PLC software, drives, SCADA, HMI software, high level communication networks, managed switches and cyber security devices. Candidates should also have the ability to size drives and motors to suit applications.
Ideal candidates will have experience and/ or an awareness of the elements of control system projects including design and test specifications, software engineering, FAT, installation, commissioning and the production of customer documentation. Candidates should have the ability to tender for complex multi-panel control suites and complex PLC/ drive systems, including estimating times for CAD design, electrical and software engineering, system testing and commissioning.
Experience of the metal and continuous production process industries is ideal. Candidates should have experience with machinery safety legislation and application and working with ISO9001 Quality System.
This position would suit engineers looking to progress in to a tendering or proposals role having previously shown an aptitude in tendering and proposals management. A solid background of control systems engineering would be highly preferable.
You will need to have proven background working on projects GBP100k - GBP0.5M.
Ideal locations for candidates to reside would include within and around: Stoke on Trent, Stafford, Market Drayton, Crewe and Leek.
