Community Hub Manager

A lovely new job! Our client, a medium sized charity is looking to recruit a Community Centre Manager for a newly established role in a new department. This role sits within community services for older people, most with dementia, care and nursing needs. Working alongside and managing a team of staff in the running of the community centre hub.

Some aspects of the role include:

Day-to-day operational management of the community centre/hub and community development initiatives
Overarching responsibility for the wellbeing, management, development and performance of all community centre/hub staff and volunteers, with direct line management of the Coordinator's, Programming and Activities Coordinator, Volunteer Manager, Digital Skills Tutor, Community Dementia and Supportive Communities Officer and Administrator
Working in partnership with facilities management and catering colleagues to ensure that the physical environment and catering services are safe and well run
Implementing and ensuring adherence to strategy, business plans, policies, processes, procedures and best practices.
Working with the Services/Care Coordinator, Programming and Activities Coordinator, Volunteer Manager, Digital Skills Tutor, Community Dementia and Supportive Communities Officer to ensure that new services and programming are implemented and managed in line with agreed standards and KPIs
Working with colleague Community/Hub Managers and the Community Dementia and Supportive Communities Officer to deliver and develop existing outreach services, such as Community Dementia and Supportive Communities services
Providing leadership and support to colleagues on a range of community initiatives, including capacity building in the community and local partnership working
Providing leadership to the lay committees and support to local fundraising activities.
Experience and qualifications needed for this job are:

Experience in a leadership role, working with older and/or disabled people
Experience in a professional community role with specific Community Development and Engagement responsibilities
Experience working with people living with dementia, either in a personal or professional capacity
People management experience
Experience leading a team of staff and volunteers through a period of significant change
Experience working in a complex multi stakeholder environment
Experience working in a co-production culture
Extensive knowledge of The Care Act, The Mental Capacity Act, DOLS, and general adult safeguarding best practice
Knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations and their practical application in day-to-day operational work
Ability to ensure that organisation can continuously improve its services through rigorous management, monitoring and measurement against business plans, budgets, targets and KPIs
