Job: Site Logistics Co-ordinator
Boyd recruitment are currently working with a Main contractor that have a large requirement in the centre of Edinburgh.
The project has a 24-month duration and will see the successful candidates gainfully employed on a project that is helping to transform travel in Edinburgh.
We have several requirements in locations from Leith to Newhaven, starting in March.
The Job
As a Logistics co-ordinator you will be responsible for the following:
* Communicating with the public, advising on all matters relating to the construction works being carried out on the main public roads and streets.
* Advising the public and residents of road closures and diversions
* Attend briefings led by the council and contractor to maintain detailed knowledge of construction plans affecting local businesses adjacent to their geographic area of work.
* Work with delivery drivers to assist in the delivery of goods to shops, where necessary, receive goods from delivery drivers, temporarily store and subsequently deliver goods to business premises, keeping an accurate record of goods in transit.
* Assist in the banking of vehicles (training will be provided)
* Convey the organisations corporate culture and ethos.
* You will be able to use a Tablet and be able to record all appropriate data on the company system.
All PPE will be provided, payments will be made weekly and there may be extended hours during the summer depending on the construction schedule.
The Candidate
* You will have some experience working in the construction environment.
* You will be a good communicator and be able to manage groups of people in a polite and diplomatic manner.
* You will be willing to work outside and be on your feet for sustained periods.
* You will be hard working, willing to help where and when required.
* Be able to start in April
