Job Title: Certification Manager
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 per week
Job Location: Buxton
Remuneration: As Certification Manager, you'll receive a competitive salary, depending on experience, plus you'll benefit from a 10% performance bonus private health cover, a contributory pension scheme and life cover.
As Certification Manager you'll be responsible for managing certification engineers involved in Exe, Exn, Ext and non-electrical testing and certification activities, as well as acting as the focus for technical expertise in Ex e, Exn, Ext and non-electrical testing and certification.
Key Accountabilities;
* Line Management responsibility for staff including: Recruitment, training and career development, workload management, project finances, and Health & Safety.
* Specific responsibility for Ex e, Exn, Ext and non-electrical equipment certification.
* To provide management support to other Certification Managers, particularly with respect to Ex e, Ex n, Ex t, and non-electrical testing and certification.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need to have in depth knowledge of Ex e, Ex n, Ex t and non-electrical standards, testing and certification, as well as experience in the application of the Ex standards and the relevant testing protocols, and in applying professional judgement on compliance and the significance of non-compliance.
In addition to the above you'll also need to demonstrate the following;
* General engineering background
* Clear written English applied in the drafting of reports and certificates
* Personal time management to enable the handling of multiple projects for multiple customers simultaneously to achieve delivery within time and cost constraints
* A personal record of experience and competence is maintained and updated regularly to show progression
* Technical qualification gained through higher education in an engineering subject
The following attributes would be desirable, but not essential;
* Knowledge of Exd and Exp standards, testing and certification.
* Ability to train certification engineers "on the job"
* Experience in an engineering environment of drawing office practice, factory production and quality control methods or systems
* Degree level qualification in an engineering discipline
