We are currently recruiting for a Materials Planner to join our Melton Foods site working Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract

The Role

The materials planner is responsible for ensuring materials are available to meet demand, through effective ordering and inventory control processes, liaising with a variety of internal and external parties, including suppliers and hauliers to ensure high levels of service are maintained both efficiently and cost effectively. To ensure that all allocated production plans are completed in line with business requirements and to required deadlines.

* Creating daily operational plans & producing intake and preparation plans

* Issuing line plans with correct volume and technical information

* Liaising with the despatch team in relation to out load volume and shunts

* Scheduling orders for raw materials

* Daily use of department KPI's to identify appropriate resource stock levels, minimizing waste, special vehicles and redundant stock write off

* Identify and resolve day to day issues.

* Ensure all additional investigations and reports are completed fully and accurately, making considered recommendations for change and implementing agreed changes to drive improvement

* Represent department at internal meetings as required. Report to team as necessary with key actions and updates. Feedback to meeting stakeholders with action updates as appropriate

The Right Person

You will be someone who is self-motivated and focussed on the customer. You will demonstrate initiative and ownership. You value others and their contribution and enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues. You will be flexible and adaptable to change. In addition, you will have the following skills:

* Have at least 1 years' experience in a planning role preferably within FMCG / food production

* Good understanding of the production planning process

* PC literate on all Microsoft Office packages with excellent Excel skills

* Have excellent attention to detail & Ability to work to strict deadlines

* Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload accordingly
