The role

Ferrovial Construction is looking for a Consents Graduate to assist with the management of consent submissions on a variety of major UK infrastructure projects. The Ferrovial 3-year graduate development programme is designed to develop personal, professional and technical skills through a blended approach. You will work under the supervision of our Consents Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

The consents graduate's key responsibility would be to support the entire consents team. They would assist the team in the management of the Consents Register, ensuring document control of consents submissions is managed appropriately and undertake consents compliance tasks.

Description of Activities to be undertaken

* Work within the consents team providing support in forecasting and recording all required consents to be sought for the project works, including highways, environmental, planning and other associated Licenses

* Assist in the finalisation of submissions in accordance with the document control procedure.

* Under supervision of the Consents Manager, maintaining the consents register, with appropriate links to the project programme, monitoring and tracking consents through their process from inception to discharge of conditions.

* Assist in the production of monthly reports, highlighting consents performance and key risks

* Develops a knowledge of third-party approvals (when required, content of applications, timescales), and utilises this knowledge in order to proactively advise site-based teams of likely future consent requirements.

* Assists with proactively driving the effective discharge of all relevant consent commitments on behalf of the project through:

* Assisting team members to understand relevant commitments and conditions of obtained third party approvals, working with them to ensure they progress their role on the project in a manner compliant with the various commitments

* Undertaking compliance audits/inspections, some of which will be worksite-based

* Compiling evidence to provide to the Riverlinx SPV as required to demonstrate effective discharge of consent commitments, and provides an update on compliance within period reports

* Under supervision, liaise with third parties as required on matters associated with consents

* Assists the contract in the maintaining of positive relationships with third parties from which consents are sought, and commitments held.

Skills and Competence

We are looking for graduates with:

* Excellent communication skills and ability to interact at a variety of levels

* Excellent written and oral English language

* Degree or Master's in Civil Engineering / Project Management /Town and Country Planning (All disciplines considered)

* Right to work in the UK & Ireland

* Motivated to learn and add value to the team, the role and the Graduate programme

* Analytical thinker who enjoys problem solving

* A proven team player who can effectively work with others

* Enjoys working under pressure to meet deadlines
