Out client is a leading independent Oil & Gas Company operating in 14 countries across the globe, ranging from Northern Europe to Africa and from Latin America to Southeast Asia. This opportunity will be working for their UK subsidiary which manages onshore and offshore operations in the Southern North Sea. Working within their Drawing Office, you will be part of the operational engineering support team where you will have responsibility for supporting drawing modifications and ensuring critical drawings are updated appropriately. A strong understanding of design / drafting software used in the Oil & Gas industry is required for this role.

This is a 12 month contract position; working hours are Monday to Friday. Whilst this role is based onshore at our clients offices in Norwich there may be a requirement for occasional travel to our gas terminal at Bacton or to our offshore platforms in the Southern North Sea.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation of CAD drawings to the our clients UK specifications and recognised industry codes and standards
• Provide engineering and technical support regarding drawings to operations teams
• Produce and update multi-discipline drawings (Layouts / P&ID's / Schematics / Diagrams / Schedules etc) utilising AutoCAD and Microstation software
• Provide consistent draughting quality across our clients assets
• Liaise with Engineers and third party contractors in providing drawing updates
• Manage multiple draughting update projects ensuring drawings are delivered within an acceptable timeframe
• Work to our clients Drawing Office and Document Control procedures to ensure drawings are processed, updated, stored and issued correctly
• Maintain and update controlled drawing register providing progress updates throughout drawing updates
• Checking and final approval of updated drawings

Qualifications / Experience / Key Skills:

• Formal relevant qualification in design and drafting or engineering
• Previous experience within the Oil & Gas industry would be advantageous
• A proven track record in CAD operating in an industrial environment
• Knowledge and experience in engineering drawing office principles, procedures and standards
• Knowledge and experience of the safety requirements for working on an industrial site
• Knowledge and experience of process plant design
• Good fundamental understanding and knowledge of engineering drawings across all disciplines - Process / Instrument / Electrical / Mechanical / Civil
• Experienced in working within an engineering project group
• Proven experience and competence in the use of AutoCAD, Microstation, Microsoft Office
• Excellent team working skills and a good communicator with the ability to interact with organisational personnel at all levels.
• Good time management skills and an ability to plan and organise work activities.
• Methodical approach and attention to detail with high level of accuracy
