Just Food Recruitment, part of The JFR Group, are currently recruiting for an experienced CI Manager to join this large Food manufacturer.

Summary;

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a CI Manager reporting to the Site Director, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing Continuous Improvements across the operations function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organisation Development

Set up and coordinate the activities of the site senior team to facilitate adopting a lean transformation. Set the pace of improvement with the Site Director to deliver timely results, and to ensure sustainability.
Challenge management thinking and insist on appropriate practices such as continuous improvement, (kaizen) as part of the business management.Strategy

Coordinate the development of a site lean strategy in line with the goals of valley park.
Coordinate the development of this strategy throughout the site.Continuous Improvement (Kaizen)

Prioritise site problems based upon value generation for the customer/ consumer and the client.
Utilise the A3 Practical Problem Solving (A3 PPS) tool to address the root cause of priority problems across the site.
Problem identification: utilize lean tools to identify waste within the site production process.
Develop Standard Work application and confirmation to ensure that improvements are standardized and sustained.
Equipment Productivity: Ensure that equipment productivity (as mentioned by OEE %) is maximized through the continuous monitoring of OEE trends and improvement of equipment availability (downtime reduction).
Introduce Autonomous Maintenance. Monitor the effectiveness of and periodically update autonomous maintenance schedules carried out by the operator team in the production team.Facilitation

Act as a facilitator for the education of all team members in the principles and tolls of lean manufacturing and provide them the opportunity to continually improve the standards set using appropriate lean tools.
Work closely with the site Training Officer to ensure lean development plans are in place for team members, that training is conducted to meet these plans and that records are kept for all training conducted.Standardisation

Facilitate the standardization of all structures, machine settings, work methods, training, procedures & records utilizing lean manufacturing principles.Communication

Implement structures to facilitate the dispersal of all relevant information in a useable format to all points of use within the factory.
Communicate status of lean transformation including benefits.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

An experienced CI Co-ordinator, who possess a thorough knowledge of lean tools and principles, and can demonstrate previous lean manufacturing coaching experience, preferably within a FMCG environment.
Experience of implementing/ introducing lean manufacturing to the business.
Possess good man management skills and can demonstrate achievement through people and relationship building.
Can demonstrate determination and the ability to drive change.
Good understanding of business goals and performance.
To be able to demonstrate strategic vision and creativity.
Ability to prioritise work for self and others
Ability to work under pressure and meet objectives with conflicting deadlines.
Good organiser with realistic time management skills
Ability to reflect on own performance and recognize areas of development.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

A formal CI qualification/ training in CI
Lean (i.e six sigma)
Clear understanding of lean tools
Experience of working in a GMP manufacturing environment
Detailed knowledge of strategic planning.
Food safety level 3 or equivalent
