An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Manager/Advanced Laboratory Specialist
As the Laboratory Manager/Advanced Testing Specialist you will be required to effectively manage the laboratory technicians, work undertaken within soils testing laboratory on geotechnical projects and actively support our strategy for growth of the laboratory testing capacity.
You will oversee and aid in day-to-day laboratory operations which includes preparation, logging and storage of soil samples and laboratory testing to British Standards. You will implement geotechnical laboratory testing programs and distribute work to technicians and supervisors.
You will be required to continuously evaluate resources, processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement both technically and financially.
You should have specific experience of advanced soils testing including effective stress triaxial (static and dynamic), direct simple shear (static and dynamic), resonant column, bender elements, and constant rate of strain oedometer. Management/supervision experience in a similar role is desirable.
The successful candidate will be based in Great Yarmouth and must be a confident user of Excel, have excellent attention to detail and a methodical, organised approach to tasks. You will need to be a confident individual with a positive attitude and enjoy a challenge.
You should hold a relevant university degree. It is desirable that you hold a MSc or PhD related to geotechnical testing
