At Foxton Locks we are looking for seasonal support to help through our most busy time at our key Destination.
We are looking for one seasonal, person to work Thursday - Monday. 9am till 5pm, including Bank Holidays, the successful candidate will join our team delivering world class customer service, engaging and enjoyable events, completing small maintenance tasks to ensure the site is looking and operating to the highest standard at all times and ensuring the Destination is safe for visitors, staff and volunteers at all times,.
The successful candidate must enjoy working outdoors in all weathers, working with people and have experience working in a busy customer focused environment. The successful candidate will join a warm and welcoming team of 2 full time staff and 63 volunteers.
The successful candidate must, at all times display the Trust values and behaviours and ensure every single visitor to the Destination receives excellent customer service, a warm welcome and a friendly and helpful response to any questions and or enquiries.
The successful candidate will be working predominantly with volunteers and will be required to enthuse and engage with the team ensuring maximum safe output of work as well as ensuring the volunteers have an enjoyable time. The successful candidate will be required to wear Trust uniform at all times while working.
Safety is paramount and the successful candidate must ensure they follow all of the Trust safety policies and ensure safety of themselves, their colleagues and our visitors

General maintenance
* Assisting lock keepers with lock keeping at busy times, covering gaps in the rota where required. Training will be provided for lock keeping and an internal assessment will be carried when the successful candidate is ready for this.
* General vegetation maintenance including but not limited to;
cutting the grass around the lock flight using a power driven lawn mower, training will given for the use of the mower.
* Strimming grass using powered strimmer. training will given
* Trimming hedges by hand using hand tools.- experience useful but not essential as training will given
* Edging grass using hand tools - experience useful but not essential as training will given
* Painting of locks, bridges fencing and signs - experience useful but not essential as training will given
* Repairing/replacing Fencing, signs and posts, - experience useful but not essential as training will given
* Small towpath repairs - experience useful but not essential as training will given
* Small brick laying repairs - experience useful but not essential as training will given
* The successful candidate will be required to investigate any issues on site as they arise and make safe, rectify if possible and escalate as required - training will be given of common issues which may arise

Visitor Experience
* General safety checks of the Destination
* At all times giving world class customer service
* Litter picking
* Emptying bins
* Mopping the floor in the customer service facilities
* Meeting and greeting visitors to the Destination and engaging them with the work of the charity
* Signposting visitors around the Destination to enhance their visit
* Assisting with and leading activities such as pond dipping, painting and guided walks
