LSA role for a Psychology Graduate Autism Guildford - Education and Training - Psychology Graduate Autism Guildford - Ideal role for an aspiring Youth Justice Officer - June 14th start and continues September 2021
This is a Learning Support Assistant role that will put you into challenging, sometimes Anti-Social contexts that will build your foundations of experience. With this LSA role starting after, de-escalation and the language around it is incredibly important! This is a specialist school where empathy and pragmatism are key.
If you are an aspiring OT, Youth Justice Officer or Clinical Psychologist, this LSA role will give you pragmatic experience of working with vulnerable students who have been through severe traumas.
The Provision - focuses on CBT and ABA
**Specialist Complex Needs Provision, 49 students, boys and girls, with a range of mental health and Special Educational Needs - Autism, Asperger's, PMLD, Complex Social Needs, Global Development Delay
**Nonverbal students, low level learning with a mix of OCD and ADHD
**Focus on the holistic, therapeutic and restorative, tailored curriculum for each student, mixed ability
**Monday to Friday, May and September 2021 starts, 9-3pm, GBP60 per day PAYE
**EYFS Curriculum, Nurtured and tailored curriculum, all depends on the ability of the child and their context
Pragmatism and positive reinforcement will be key skills in this LSA role in Guildford. The role specialises in working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues and Wellness concerns. You will be working with the students to find their role in society, giving children a sense of acceptance.
The LSA role will give you experience in safeguarding and assessment of what rehabilitation students require to be empowered back into mainstream education. It is important to understand where each student comes from, they will all have a different story and their need will range dramatically. This is a much-nuanced role and that requires your empathy, not your sympathy and pity. The students still need goals and objectives, how can tyou make this student's life that little bit better, today?
Do you require a placement before starting your MSc/Research project? This practical placement will enable you to qualify and disqualify areas of Psychology, Youth, Social and Criminal Justice that are right for you. This LSA role is not for everyone; you must be sincere about your objectives and know why you are an aspiring Occupational Therapist or Clinical Psychologist, for example.
