Position: Speech and Language Therapist - (Equivalent to NHS Agenda for change - Band 6)
Location: Market Drayton
Hours: 37.5 per week- Mon-Fri
Salary Details: GBP31,365 - GBP37,890 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Speech and Language Therapist to work alongside other dedicated colleagues from Psychiatry, Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Nursing to share knowledge and skills. We enjoy excellent working relationships with colleagues from other professions and close multi-disciplinary working is firmly embedded in our culture.
You will be required to assess, diagnose and play a key role in the management of adults with complex communication needs and behaviours that challenge. You will support individual patients and people who work with the patients to promote functional communication systems and optimal independence.
We are looking for an experienced Band 6 or an ambitious existing Band 5 qualified HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist who has:
* Experience or a keen interest in learning disabilities, autism and mental health problems and has an understanding of Positive behaviour support (Essential)
* Met their RCSLT Newly Qualified Competences and has an excellent interpersonal skill, strong clinical and professional skills and good organisational and management skills (Essential)
* Has met their RSCLT Dysphagia competences or is nearing completion of these (Desirable)

Eldertree Lodge is a locked rehabilitation Mental Health Hospital that provides specialist assessments, treatments and rehabilitation for adults with intellectual disabilities, mental health needs, autistic spectrum disorders, including those with varying degrees of challenging behaviours and forensic histories. The Hospital has 39 beds spread across six wards.
