Our Client:

With a UK Head Office, the business has been trading for over 100 years and has a turnover approaching GBP60m with over 20 global sites situated globally. The company focuses on engineered equipment supplying every major sector growing organically year on year to become a true market leader.


This varied role will see you working directly with and supporting the HR team and Senior stakeholders across the business undertaking a wide variety of HR related tasks. Reporting directly to the General Manager you will play a prominent role within the HR function and wider departments which is seen as central to the success of the business. Once you have settled in and are used to the processes and procedures, this role will allow you to take full ownership of important HR related projects which will allow you to deliver an exceptional level of service to the business.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Support and coach line managers with all aspects of people management ensuring adherence to policies and procedures

* Keep up to date with employment legislation and ensuring changes to HR policies are implemented and communicated within the organisation

* Provide support and guidance to managers regarding disciplinary, grievances and appeal meetings

* Provide support and advice to managers with performance issues within their team

* Facilitate the appraisal process, ensuring that all training and development needs are met

* Support organisational change management and effective employee communication

* Manage the Trade Union relationship including annual pay negotiations, T&C's negotiations, monthly union meetings, changes to the Company handbook

* Conduct salary reviews as part of the annual pay review process and ensuring reward and recognition plans are attractive and competitive

* Coordinate incentive schemes, target set, payments due

* Coordinate monthly HR data and statistics

* Process the monthly payrolls alongside the HR Coordinator

* Support and prepare for annual external payroll and pension audits

* Monitor employee absence figures and ensure return to work interviews are conducted

* Support employees on long term sick and manage the back to work process

* Manage the recruitment process - from role approval, creating job descriptions and internal adverts, liaising with recruitment agencies, supporting interviews, creating contracts and organising the on-boarding of new starters

* Manage Apprentice training and the relationship between DBS and college

* Organise annual apprentice recruitment drive

* Approve HR related invoices

What we are looking for:

* HR or management qualification is highly desired.

* Experience of payroll, directly or indirectly.

* Unionised experience is highly desired

* Held a demonstrable level of responsibility.

* Assertive nature as and when required.

* Ability to remain calm under pressure and to work well as part of a team.
