Ecommerce UX Designer
Lloyd Recruitment Services are currently looking for a Ecommerce UX Designer to join an established company in the East Grinstead area
As part of a small dynamic Commercial department, and reporting to the Ecommerce Manager, this role encompasses both E-commerce daily reporting and performance improvement duties, plus, UX and visual design best practice to deliver user journey, user experience and CRO improvements for multiple online brands and products.
Areas of responsibility include all digital channels (website, online booking app, digital portals) and across multiple devices, such as desktop, tablet, mobile, and future technologies.
The successful applicant will have a real passion, flair and commitment to delivering outstanding user centred and creative work for our websites and digital channels, combined with UX design best practice. You will have the necessary skills and experience to successfully present across the business, taking designs from concept to completion. Championing the user experience you will demonstrate the importance and role of UX design in driving both user and business outcomes, helping to increase the ROI from digital channels.
Duties:
* Use web analytics, user testing, session videos, heat maps and customer feedback to identify user issues and pain points, adopting user centred approaches to then fix these based on insight and best practice design
* Produce weekly ecommerce reports
* Responsible for the routine deployment of all ecommerce activities and the day to day upkeep of services through all digital channels in line with departmental objectives and revenue targets.
* Iterate visual and UX concepts and ideas based on best practice and new ideas - including user flows/journeys, wireframes (low and hi fidelity), screen components and assets
* Produce ideas, concepts, design and assets that can be AB tested
* Understand development principles to make sure your designs are achievable within timelines and on the platform
* Produce pixel perfect designs for sign off
* Extend and apply existing UX and visual design standards and templates, evolving these as required
* Regularly monitor developments in e-commerce, design, and competitor's websites and recommend enhancements to UX & visual designs to ensure a 'best in class' user experience is maintained
* Be accountable for time estimates provided for design work and ensure that work is completed on time
* Your role will also require you to deal with external clients and partners at times as well as write content for the business' ecommerce platforms.
* Responsibility for the day to day delivery of customer experience, conversion process and provision of member services through all digital channels (E.G: Desktop, Tablet, Mobile and Apps).
* Undertake regular competitor analysis ensuring a 'best in class' user experience is maintained.
* Provide direct support for internal departments and external partners that require operational knowledge of ecommerce or digital technologies.
* Ensure that all quality standards, legal compliance and regulated procedures are met when changing or updating online journeys.
* Work with ecommerce manager to take all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off
* Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex designs
* With appropriate prototyping and design tools (such as Axure and Photohop), create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
* Take a proactive role in identifying and resolving design improvements across all sites and campaigns while communicating with different departments to confirm requirements
* Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
* Attend user research sessions and evaluate user feedback
Essential Skills & Experience Required:
-Ideally a recognised digital qualification
-A positive attitude and strong willingness to learn and develop
-A self-starter that will proactively find issues and gaps and come up with and deliver solutions
-Able to manage your own workload and priorities
-Proven experience in an insight driven ecommerce role in a business to consumer marketing environment.
-Good analytical and problem-solving skills
-Experience of website optimisation, data analysis (Google Analytics)
-Working knowledge of internet development technologies, SEO and digital channel device applications
-Knowledge of the current internet industry and current best practice standards
-Able to manage multiple work streams and prioritise effectively to ensure deadlines are met
-Proven UI experience
-Demonstrable UI design skills with a strong portfolio
-Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
-Proficiency in Axure, Photoshop, Illustrator, OmniGraffle, or other visual design and wire-framing tools
-Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping.
-Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
-Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders.
-Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
-Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
Indicative split of tasks for reference:
Ecommerce:
-Daily and weekly Reporting - compiling stats and using google analytics
-Competitor analysis - regular review of competition
-Daily issue logs - reviewing issues logged in regards to ecom/app
-Booking flow analysis - constant review and optimisation of booking flows
Mixed design and ecommerce:
-User journey mockups/prototypes - creating designs and mockups based on changes/requirements
Design only:
-Website design changes - assisting other teams in designs
-Wi-Fi design changes - updates to Wi-Fi page designs
