Production Operative (Mon-Fri 08.15am-5.30pm)

GBP28,000 - GBP35,000 DOE

We require an enthusiastic and capable Production Operative to assist in the production of bespoke systems solutions products. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and have experience in the manufacture of mechanical and electrical based products.

* The successful candidate must have 3-5 years hands on experience working in a production assembly role where electrical wiring and mechanical assembly is common place.

* A qualification in a mechanical / electrical discipline or manufacturing operations, such as City and Guilds manufacturing processes level 2, would be beneficial.

The candidate must be proficient in the following:

* Cable and loom assembly: Using conventional hand tools and hand crimp tools, semi-automated crimp tools and cut and strip machines. Certification to a recognised standard such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 would be beneficial.

* Hand soldering - connectors and through hole PCB components.

* Electrical wiring - wiring of components in panels and box builds.

* Mechanical assembly using conventional tools and electrical hand tools.

* Reading technical assembly drawings and documentation.

* Using machine tools such as pillar drills, milling machines and grinding wheels.

It is also preferred for the candidate to have:

* Basic Communication and IT skills using Microsoft Word and Excel.

* Experience with electrical testing equipment such as multi meters and electrical safety testers.

Key responsibilities include:

* Manufacturing of system solution products to technical documentation.

* Manufacture of component parts, such as cables and bus bars.

* Electrical testing of products to written instructions.

* Support of the company quality management system to include:

* Timely inspection of supplier parts.

* Reporting and management of defective items from suppliers in line with company procedures.

* Analyses and reporting of customer returned items.

* Management of tooling calibration.

* Management of Commodity stock parts.

* Additional technical and maintenance duties i.e., general maintenance of the facilities.

* Additional warehouse support duties when necessary.
