Production Engineer

Our client is a highly reputable sub contract manufacturing company that has been in the industry for 20 years. They offer a range of services from CNC Machining, powder coating and sheet metal. They have built a very strong relationship with their customers over the years ensuring, high quality to help achieve mutual goals.
As the Production Engineer you will be responsible for creating flat form CAD drawings for manufacture, estimating and assisting with problem solving, creating best methods of manufacture.
Main Duties
* Ensuring production documentation is detailed and accurate for staff to follow.
* Identifying and Designing any jig's/tools required for each job.
* Create CAD drawings.
* Create sub assembly drawings, and nest drawings and load to laser
* Co-ordinate/manage projects and proto-types to ensure jobs and projects are delivered on time.
* Job estimating by choosing the correct processes and allocating manufacturing times.
* Rroute card creation and manufacture planning.
* Implement improvements to the manufacturing process - 5s, Lean Manufacturing etc.
* Assist with programming and setting up machines for operators.
* Identify tools and techniques to achieve individual jobs.
* Help train production staff.
Key Requirements
* Essential- Able to read and interpret engineer's drawings and specifications.
* Essential- Able to draw using Auto Cad/Solid Works or equivalent 3 years of Manufacturing/Production experience in a Precision engineering environment.
* Knowledge of sheet metal fabrications and CNC machining.
* Should possess a high level of competency with ERP/MRP systems.
Hours & Benefits
* 40 hrs per week
* 08.00 - 17.00 Monday - Thursday, Friday 14.30 finish
* 25 days holiday
* GBP33,000 - GBP36,000
