Are you looking for the next step of your children's social care career? This is a great opportunity for an experienced children's support worker to develop and progress in a Senior Children's Support Worker position.

As as a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will develop rotas, complete supervisions and deputise for the Deputy Home Manager. You'll work closely with the staff team, encouraging and coaching them and identifying training needs, whether formal or by way of day-to-day coaching and reflection.

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position where you will do an average of two sleep ins per week. Shifts in this children's home are long day shifts, and on each of your shifts you will be responsible for your team of Support Workers.

As a Senior Children's Support Worker your core duties and responsibilities will be:

Being a role model for excellent childcare practice.
Coaching, training and mentoring Support Workers to enable them to deliver best practice.
Supporting the children in the home in a person centred way and with respect and dignity.
Supporting the children to complete domestic tasks and maintain their home environment.
Supporting the children in developing and maintaining relationships and participating in and contributing to their local community.
Acting as and overseeing Key Workers for named individuals, overseeing the co-ordination of their plans and being their advocate to improve the quality of their life.
Formally supervising delegated members of staff.
Inducting new staff.
Communicating with families, representatives and outside agencies in a professional and courteous manner.
Taking part in professional meetings and reviews and liaising with appropriate professionals.
Acting up as the Deputy Home Manager in their absence.

The successful Senior Children's Support Worker will have the following essential criteria:

Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare
Working knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations
Recent experience of working in a residential service for children in care
Full driving licence
Excellent record keeping skills
Punctual and reliable
Salary:

GBP10.75 per hour plus GBP70 per sleep in

Total per annum = GBP29,000 to GBP30,000 per year
