SENIOR HOUSING OFFICER REQUIRED IN HUDDERSFIELD - MUST DRIVE**
Based in Kirklees, Huddersfield, Morley
Start: ASAP
Duration: Until March 2022
Days working: 3 days a week
Salary: GBP18,600
Required: Must have own car - Fuel is expensedKey Deliverables:
* To be responsible for the generic housing management of 466 local authority homes including 140 homes across 3 extra care facilities.
* Deliver a high customer satisfaction and conduct all customer satisfaction performance tests in accordance with the contract.
* Ensure that equality is a key consideration and that the concepts of quality and equality are fully integrated into practices and procedures relating to service delivery.
* Maximise opportunities for customer involvement.
* Provide help and support to customers including advice on rent payments where appropriate.
* Ensure customers meet and maintain all the obligations outlined in their tenancy agreement.
* Develop close working partnerships with several different organisations, such as Kirklees Council Departments, Police, Social Services Council, and departments within Kirklees Council.
* Work in Partnership with Kirklees Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations (KFTRA), individual Tenants and Residents Associations and other community groups as appropriate.
Key Tasks:
* Effectively deal with a range of housing management issues including but not limited to; rental income and debt management, anti social behavior, breaches of tenancy, succession, and assignment, all in accordance with relevant legislation and contract policy and procedures.
* Develop approaches, systems and practices which ensure the service meets the specification. Act and develop initiatives to solve problems and beat the specification at every opportunity
* Apply effective voids management techniques to ensure turnaround times are minimised in accordance with the contract.
* Oversee the delivery of repairs and maintenance.
* Prepare documents that may be used in case conferences or as evidence in court.
* Ensure that the services provided are continually reviewed and refined to exceed customer expectations.
* To be an integral part of the management team of the contract including deputising in the absence of colleagues and carrying out any other reasonable ad-hoc duties as required.
* Form part of on-call Rota with availability 24/7 to attend site as necessary
Essential criteria
* Experience in delivering housing management services
* Experience of staff supervision
* Good report writing skills
* Be able to effectively manage conflicting priorities
* The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Knowledge of current housing legislation.
* A good knowledge of the Housing benefit system
* Have good IT skills and be able to use a variety of software packages such as Excel and other office applications.
* Hold a current UK driving license and have daily use of a vehicle.
