The Client

Ventus is working in partnership with an international developer of floating offshore wind projects on a range of positions in the UK and further afield. The company is progressing an exciting portfolio of innovative, joint venture and wholly owned projects within the emerging deep water offshore wind market on a worldwide scale. In the UK, the company is the leading on a variety of early development phase projects and is seeking an experienced Project Planner to join the team based in Edinburgh.

The Role

The Project Planner will take the lead on development of the project's consenting and engineering programme, managing schedules on projects in adherence to the necessary project planning standards, systems and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Proactive development of the project programme in Primavera P6 to take account of both engineering and consenting phase

*

Ensure your work is completed in adherence to the existing scheduling standards and processes to support the development and construction of floating offshore wind projects.

*

Undertaking scenario planning to support project optimisation

*

Developing blue-print work, break down structures and project master schedules for the offshore wind team.

*

Providing project planning (scheduling) support to floating offshore wind development projects

*

Manage the project schedules in accordance with the project work breakdown structure.

*

Ensure that project schedules are developed and updated to support - Three Point Estimating and Earned Value Management.

*

Assuring that project plans are regularly updated and within levels of certainty to allow effective monitoring, forecasting and control.

*

Ensuring that project schedules conform to the Change Control Process, in terms of liaison, communication and calculation of change notes and change orders

*

Ensure that standard project planning requirements are met, understood and embedded from both contractor and sub-contractors into the client's systems.

*

Producing planning reports for input into the monthly reporting process.

*

Carrying out risk analysis, weather downtime analysis and delay mitigation analysis

*

Creating and maintaining What-If scenarios as required.

The Candidate

*

Experience in Planning elements of a large construction projects (such as offshore wind, onshore wind, power, oil and gas companies or general engineering consultancies) in multi-discipline teams.

*

Experience of developing a project programme from scratch

*

Extensive knowledge of relevant software tools, namely Primavera P6 (MS Project also beneficial)

*

Experience in running Quantitative Risk Assessment with Oracle Primavera Risk Assessment software

*

Proactive and self-driven approach with good interpersonal skills

*

Experience in contributing planning detail to reports in a clear and concise manner, which can then be understood and utilised by the project teams.

*

Fluent English (oral and writing)

*

Willingness to travel.

*

Experience of planning offshore or marine construction desirable
