Night Support Worker (Mental Health) 

Newcastle-under-Lyme (Staffordshire) 

£18,000

 

Our client is looking for a Safe and Well Coach to be the first point of contact for our customers in their specialist mental health supported housing scheme and the community, outside of their normal working hours. On a full time, permanent basis you’ll empathise, understand, listen and build a rapport to help customers on their journey towards more concrete futures.

 

Job requirements:

  • Monitor CCTV
  • Answer calls
  • Helps customers when they lock themselves out
  • Provide access to emergency accommodation
  • Update logbooks and handover reports
  • Refer customers to external support if needed
  • Complete health and safety, fire safety and maintenance checks
  • Record all your work accurately

 

What they’re looking for:

  • Someone who can work nights evenings and weekends on a rota basis
  • Someone with six months experience of supporting adults with complex needs such as mental health and drug use.
  • Someone with a genuine understanding and compassion for people without a home, who won’t judge but instead will empower customers and give them a voice.
  • Have experience of working with private, confidential and complex information by following data protection laws.
  • Great communications skills with the ability to develop genuine working relationships
  • A flexible and adaptable approach and someone able to work around the needs of the customer
  • Great communication and problem-solving skills
  • Time management skills,
  • The ability to work positively as part of a team, able to develop and follow plans
