A leading Precision Optics manufacturer requires a Production / CI Engineer to join their facility in Taunton.
With a strong background in Continuous Improvement and Manufacturing / Production, you will be responsible for planning and implementing Improvement Plans.
Reviewing each production area will include improvements to current shop floor working practices, improvement of visual management and layouts, pulling together cross functional teams to manage changes and analysing data and suggesting improvements based on relevant indicators and information.
The objective of the CI Engineer will be to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of operations processes in line with the strategic plan and vision for the future of the business.
You will provide the framework to drive improvements both in the process and methods of work as well in the equipment and facilities infrastructure.
Experience:
As the successful Production / CI Engineer, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of Lean and 6 sigma principles and methods, team development and team leadership techniques, and project management methods.
Ideally you will have worked in a similar Production / NPI / CI role for 2 or more years, within a similar precision engineering / manufacturing site.
Qualifications:
Ideally you will have achieved a professional qualification in a relevant Engineering / Production discipline, and have over 2 years commercial experience.
Additional Information:
Candidates MUST be eligible to live and work in the UK. Copies of Passport and Visa will be requested for verification purposes.
