The Tax Manager will be responsible for ensuring our client's businesses are paying the right amount of tax at the right time, filing all returns on time, as well as identifying any risks and opportunities that are relevant for our client
The role has an overall responsibility of management of the corporate tax process including guiding and advising Client leadership and business on appropriate and optimised Tax and excise exposure fulfilment ensuring compliance to UK and international tax regulations and reporting standards to ensure tax liability risk mitigation.
Key Interfaces:
External: HMRC, Representation before Trade Bodies and Government agencies, Lenders
Internal: Various departments
Tax Management and Strategy
Primary focus is on the management and delivery of timely and accurate Corporate Tax Accounting, however will be required to develop an understanding and knowledge on indirect Tax
Develop and implement best practices for the management of direct taxes and supporting the indirect tax processes
Ensure timely filings and payments of various VAT, Excise duty, Customs related returns, Direct tax returns, QIPS with HM Revenue & Customs;
Governance and Compliance
Monitor changes to indirect tax / direct tax rules in order to evaluate their impact on business thus, keeping businesses informed of the impact on their activities.
Ensure tax compliance in all respect of direct, indirect tax such as fiscal metering, correct tax coding
Lead and implement process improvement and change management initiatives for EMEA tax reporting with an ongoing focus on data and technology
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and a professional tax qualification (CTA)
Experience
• Extensive tax experience is essential
• Working knowledge of SAP preferred
• Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity
corporate Tax experience for large companies & consolidated groups, which includes tax accounting and compliance
Experience of dealing with Tax Authorities
UK corporation tax compliance experience
Strong tax accounting skills including year-end provisioning for current and deferred taxes
Experience of dealing with half year and year end audits and preparing statutory accounts disclosures under IFRS
