We are currently looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join a successful, rapidly expanding Insurance Broker based in Redhill.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, growing business. You will work across three entities (insurance broker, insurance premium finance company and a property investment company) and lead a team of four, but will interact with and work within a growing business of almost 100 employees to ensure the smooth running of the finance side of the company.
Working Monday to Friday, 8.55am to 5.30pm with a generous basic salary of up to GBP38,000 depending on experience, if you are looking for a busy, fast-paced role with plenty of opportunities and benefits, then this is the role for you! What will your working day look like?
* Distribute and lead the day-to-day tasks of the accounts team to ensure agreed service levels are met
* Responsible for completing month-end procedures (including client money calculations)
* Timely preparation of monthly management accounts
* Manage monthly insurer statement reconciliations and payments process as part of a small team
* Perform and review completion of accounting controls (such as bank reconciliations) at regular intervals
* Oversee purchase ledger and payment preparation
* Carrying out credit control activities
* Liaise with the business and insurers to resolve accounting queries
* Carry out 1-1's and annual appraisals with team members to support their development and review their performance
* Hold regular team meetings with the accounts team
* Assist with the preparation of statutory returns
* Ensure compliance with required external and internal controls
* Actively follow company policies (including Health & Safety & Equal Opportunities).
* Carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by your manager
The ideal candidate will be ACA/CIMA part-qualified (or working towards this qualification) and hold experience of working within a similar in addition to the responsibility of managing/leading a small team. You will have the Ability to work accurately through monthly workloads, capable of taking ownership of your own output and hold strong Excel skills (including vlookups, sumif, pivot tables etc).
Experience of the insurance industry would be desirable but not essential.
* Work efficiently to tight deadlines
* Ability to communicate effectively with external suppliers and internal departments.
* Be systems literate and able to work with multiple programmes
* Ability to work accurately through monthly workloads
* Ability to identify and corroborate variances in expenditure
* Capable of taking ownership of own output
* Strong problem solving skills
