Paralegal Vacancy
Main purpose of role: To work as a Paralegal in the Personal Injury Department
This will involve an assortment of complex catastrophic personal injury claims, including accidents at work, road accidents, public liability claims and claims involving negligence against other solicitors and counsel. To provide administrative support to your principal to enable them to operate at optimum efficiency whilst providing a high quality legal service to our clients You will be expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative, complying with all relevant professional and regulatory obligations. You will be expected to demonstrate that you have the appropriate competencies to deal with your work.
KEY TASKS (not exhaustive)
* Assisting Solicitors and Fee Earners in the running of files
* To take client instructions and deal with matters under the solicitors instructions
* Obtaining and collating medical evidence
* Reviewing records
* Redacting records
* Lists of disclosures
* Preparing draft witness statements
* Drafting court papers and documents
* Preparing/sharing e bundles
* Court e-filing
* Legal Research
* Preparing instructions to counsel
* Instructing experts
* Court attendance where applicable
* To prepare correspondence and documents through audio and copy typing
* Use of accounting and time recording software where applicable
* Checking documents for accuracy
* Costing of files for cost update letters where applicable
* Taking telephone messages
* Making appointments and managing diaries
* Use of photocopier, scanner and fax machine where necessary
* To prepare mail and enclosures for dispatch
* To do time recording in conjunction with the firms policy
* Liaise with partners and the department head as necessary and to attend departmental meetings as requested by the department head.
* To ensure the confidentiality and security of all documentation to comply with the new GDPR regulations
* To carry out other tasks as and when required by the LLP and/or your Line Manager
The role is full time 9am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday and will be working at one of our clients Chichester Offices
