You will be working for an owner managed Garden Builder, Maintenance and Landscaping Company based in West Kent. They carry out a broad spectrum of work and their Tree Care department is an important cornerstone of the company's activities. Both the Lead Climber and the team will have relevant experience as an Arborist / Tree Surgeon / Climber. They will be used to working to the highest standard both in terms of safety and quality and be keen to develop their skills and qualifications.
The Job:
The company operate across West Kent and their work centres on Domestic, Residential clients, carrying out technical arboriculture tasks. They are also involved in some woodland and estates management, vegetation management, and environmental engineering projects. The role will therefore include an equally broad range of duties including aerial tree surgery, pruning, crown thinning and lifting, felling, clearance, and ground-based chainsaw work. The required skill set will include species identification and disease and pest control.
The Person:
You will have experience in an Arborist role and may hold a qualification in forestry or arboriculture. The Team Leader will be comfortable leading a small team and allocating duties including tree pruning, cut-back, dismantling & felling. You must have a sound understanding of current industry best practice in Arboriculture together with knowledge of diseases and defects, tree hazard evaluations, risk zones including equipment recommendation and valuation methods. You will have a proactive and positive approach to Health & Safety regulations and be able to instil this in your team. The nature of the work requires candidates to hold the relevant industry qualifications:
* NPTC certificates: 201(CS30), 202(CS31), 206/306(CS38) 308(CS39)
* Possession of a valid CSCS card would be an advantage.
* A full, UK driving licence is desired, preferably with trailer towing up to 3,500kg
