Ark Teacher Training - Southampton
Job title: Trainee Teacher - Maths
Location: Southampton, United Kingdom

Who are we?
Ark Teacher Training is an 'Outstanding' school based Initial Teacher Training programme that allows graduates and career changers to learn from some of the best teachers and leaders in the profession. You'll be based in a school from day one, having an impact straight away.
Ark aims to tackle educational disadvantage by ensuring all young people, regardless of their background, have access to excellent teaching. Our 'outstanding' (Ofsted, 2017) teacher training programme gives the best graduates and career changers the chance to make a difference where it matters most and start a successful and rewarding career in teaching.
Ark Teacher Training have recently started working with 3 partner schools in Southampton. We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated trainee teachers in Maths. We want individuals that can help drive our schools forward and transform the educational outcomes of young people. You will share our firm belief in the importance of your subject as an academic discipline and you will want to join a school that invests in each member of staff's wellbeing and continued professional development.
How is the programme structured?
Unlike a university-based PGCE, you will be based in a school of your choice spending the whole academic year with your students watching them progress, as well as seeing your own development. The programme provides the perfect balance of theory and practice and at the end of your first year you'll have achieved the following:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
PGCE (postgraduate certificate in education) in your chosen teaching subject
60 credits towards a Master's degree
What we are looking for:
We are looking for trainees in our partner Southampton secondary schools. There is a GBP24,000 tax free bursary available from the government to support you with your first year. In year two, you'll be paid a salary like all other qualified teachers.
What support is available to me during the programme?
