Mechanical Parts Research Assistant - GBP25,000 - GBP28,000
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an extremely successful organisation within the mechanical engineering industry sector.
An understanding of vehicle parts and or engines would be preferable.
The successful candidate will be required to assist with identifying and researching new purchasing projects within a dynamic office environment. In order to increase the depth and range of mechanical engineering parts, and further improving the current stock line offered in the company's product range.
Duties/attributes:
Analyse pricing offers from the global suppler list and where required negotiate a more effective pricing structure as a result of this analysis.
Discuss external pricing offers with management to agree a future purchase plan.
Maintain an accurate information flow with both internal and external agencies.
Requisition of external production samples, in order to scrutinise the quality of potential supply.
Maintain a dialogue with the company QC department in order to optimise the product range.
Conduct secondary research of new mechanical applications for introduction to the portfolio.
Creation of purchase orders for departmental projects.
The ability to read technical engineering drawings a distinct advantage.
