Job Description
Forming Operator reporting to the Shift Supervisors
To work as part of the Manufacturing Team to satisfy customer demand in a productive and safe manner, whilst ensuring required Quality standards are met.
To offer flexibility within the manufacturing role, ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction.
To be involved in problem solving, training, continuous improvement, and product development in the forming process.
Requirements:
Measure & document downtime, monitor and complete all tool changes up to first conforming product is signed off
Support tool changes
immediately raise downtime issues through Maintenance & Supervision
Manage next job through maintaining housekeeping and ownership of materials/fixture racks.
Communicate through Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Logistics to improve problem solving and develop work instructions and practices.
To produce components in accordance with work instructions, customer requirements, and to specified rates of production.
Ensure all good Health and Safety practices are being followed.
Involvement in Continuous improvement activities (e.g. SMED and 5S)
Slight rework and adjustments of parts
Assist new product introduction.
Care and maintenance of machinery and associated tooling (planned maintenance)
Understand and adhere to standard operating procedures.
Adhere to quality procedures such as first off, last off and quality critical checks.
Work as part of any team and take part in team activities.
Undertake additional training to develop and improve skills as the company requires.
To work in accordance with organisational policies and practices.
To undertake any other duties as may be required in line with company objectives.
Person Specification
Knowledge:
Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery
Operating a press to achieve production targets.
Experience:
At least 1 year's previous manufacturing experience and ideally experience of operating a hydraulic press
Forklift Truck license an advantage
Demonstrable experience working to ISO and TS Standards with experience of working in a KPI environment.
