Keen to join a growing and successful major housebuilder? Our client is looking for an ambitious Town Planner. With an expanding pipeline of work and long history of track record of delivering homes within the North West, this housebuilder is set to continue increasing its output in the next two years, and while hit by Covid slightly like all, they worked through and made no redundancies in this division.

You will be a key part of the lean and successful Land and Planning team, working alongside an excellent Land and Planning Director, learning a lot in your next few years to progress. You will be gaining planning permission and maximising value to create communities and suburbs that people want to live in. Given that you will be joining a highly experienced team, this could be an easy transition from consultancy, or a more progressive environment than perhaps a previous client-side role.

Typically this business gets planning and builds immediate sites from 10 up to 200 units, although they are looking at larger sites, and also deal with strategic land promotion. Your role will be to assist with both sides of detailed applications and promoting through the Local Plans.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing the planning process for small and medium scale residential-led applications,
Coordinating external consultants and liaising with local authorities and other stakeholders
Keeping up-to-date with planning policy changes and being on hand for any internal advice within planning, as well as promoting sites through the Local Plan
Dealing with S106 agreements, discharging conditions, and keeping an interest in schemes as they go to construction
Appraising new sites alongside Land colleagues, and assisting in promoting sites through Local Plans
Ideally you will:

At least two years within a housebuilder or planning consultancy (although LPA background will be considered)
Have strong residential planning knowledge
Be assertive and have a confident nature, and excellent communication skills
Experience within the North West, but not essential
You must have a full driving license and access to a car
As well as a competitive package, you will be working in a successful and collaborative environment, where both your career will flourish, and your experience in the market will grow immensely. As this role is varied, it would suit a dynamic Town Planner wanting a more challenging role than consultancy or being within an LPA, and given the new world conditions, they are happy for a more permanent two days working from home if required, when things return to being more "normal".

Please apply here or give me (Kate) a call on (phone number removed) to discuss. My client is looking to find the right candidate as soon as possible - so if in doubt, do get in touch. I also have other clients and roles that may be of interest.

If you do not hear anything back within one week, please assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion, but I will retain your details for future roles
