Bioscience Lead - Daytime shifts
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours
GBP26.42/hour
Kenton Black Scientific are recruiting for a Bioscience Lead to join the UK's COVID response, NHS Test and Trace efforts within the new purpose built laboratory facility in Leamington Spa.
This role will give you the opportunity to work alongside some of the UK's brightest scientific minds in a fast paced environment where no 2 days will be the same. The facility is expanding rapidly with new lines being implemented and you will be responsible for the end to end process from sample receipt, through RNA extraction, PCR and data delivery.
Key responsibilities will include the undertaking and processing of biomedical specimens by handling human biological samples and using a variety of PCR methods. They will also be analysing and entering the results of their tests onto the computer.
Other responsibilities may also include being responsible for the supervision or training the less experienced staff in their area of competence.
Education:
•Biomedical Science degree
•Evidence of Continual Professional Development
Experience:
•Experience of training and supervising staff in a laboratory setting
•Extensive experience in using a variety of PCR methods
•Using end-point PCR methods
•RNA extraction studies
Skills:
•Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
•Can work with minimal supervision
•Attention to detail
