Southend-on-Sea Borough Council are looking to appoint a Child Exploitation experienced Social Worker in a full time fixed term contract for 12 months.
The Social Worker required to work within the Adolescent Intervention and Prevention Team whose primary function is to work with children who are victims of or at risk of child sexual/criminal exploitation and those missing from home or school.
We are currently looking to recruit a motivated individual with a diverse range of skills who is able to demonstrate a flexible approach. The applicant needs have a clear understanding of child exploitation and be motivated to work with adolescents.

Main Purpose of the job is to work with children and young people who are at risk of, or experiencing, sexual exploitation, associated with gangs and at risk of exploitation and children & young people missing from home, care or education To provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload of children and young people appropriate to experience and capabilities.
To ensure the highest of professional standards and good overall knowledge of relevant legislation, verbal, written, negotiation and role modelling.

To be successful in this position you need a recognised Social Work qualification & be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Evidence of continuing professional development inc Post Qualification Award Knowledge of child protection, looked after children and associated child in need social work practice issues Knowledge of methods of social work intervention Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations guidance & policy issues.
Knowledge & understanding of the framework for the assessment of children in need and their families Contemporary knowledge of social work & their social work applications i.e. attachment theory, enabling change, behaviour management.
Knowledge of methods of social work intervention Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations guidance & policy issues
Experience of multi-disciplinary working with children and families practice experience of applying assessment skills within a statutory social work setting.
