Senior Quantity Surveyor - GBP400-day rate

About the Company & Project
This company prides themselves on improving people's lives by deploying technology-based engineering solutions to meet urgent national needs across the UK's energy, water, and transportation infrastructures. This particular project is the M1 Junction 13 to Junction 16 smart motorway ARL (all lane running) scheme and will include a variety of different disciplines including earthworks, piling, FRC, drainage, pavements, structural steelwork, and vehicle restraint systems.
About the Role
The company are looking to expand its commercial team to deal with the increasing complexity and charges associated with supply chain accounts and the delivery of the scheme. They are looking for a highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor with an ambition to work on a challenging infrastructure scheme. This is a great opportunity to join the commercial team and gain experience on an exciting and dynamic project. The role will be site based but due to current covid restrictions may require home working from time to time. The scope of works includes:
Undertaking the efficient and effective management and issuing of accurate, timely and compliant notices and correspondence
Ensuring contractual and commercial risks and opportunities are identified to the Contract Leader
Preparation and agreement of applications for payment or the assessment & preparation of payment certificates
Maintaining registers of variations, delay, extension times and claims
Compliant and consistent implementation of the Company's commercial policies and procedures
Assist with preparation of monthly progress valuations and claims for work completed
Interfacing with Customer's commercial and project teams
Produce pre-Contract tender negotiations & reports where necessary
Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Leader Reports
Review value management and advise on Risk management
Prepare supply chain enquiries, negotiate, administer, and finalise / close out supply chain contracts
Plan and implement change management and cost control
Ongoing liaison with site team, supply chain and Customers' representatives
Provide contractual advice to the project / site team as and when appropriate
Maintaining awareness of the different construction contracts in current use
Understanding the implications of health, safety, and environmental regulations
Ensure all health, safety and environmental risk situations are brought to the attention of Contract Leader / Project Manager
The Ideal Candidate
Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (Essential)
Experience of the above responsibilities (Essential)
Highways Experience (Essential)
Strong analytical skills (Essential)
Confidence and ability to assert influence (Essential)
Hold a relevant degree (Desirable)
Remuneration
Competitive day rate of GBP400 (IR35 status determined through CEST tool)
10 hour day (Monday to Friday)
6-month contract
