The post of Giving Advisor has been recently created during an exciting time of change and development for our client. The successful candidate will join the company as their Giving Vison Campaign is launched and will have the support of the National Giving Advice team, The Church of England Giving Team as well as their own inspiring Giving Group.
The overall purpose of this role is to inspire and equip key departments and Parishes to encourage generous giving across the organisation. The post holder will be responsible for the practical delivery of the Giving Vision and translating the National Giving Strategy in the local context.
Key duties will include overseeing giving materials and resources, engaging at a local level with training and other initiatives, building relationships and trust and providing bespoke support to individual departments and benefices, as necessary.
* Work with the Inspiring Giving Group (a subcommittee of the Finance Committee) to ensure giving is championed at all levels across the charity.
* Carry out charity wide financial analysis of performance and trends, to identify benefices who are flourishing and those who may require additional support. Developing and delivering targeted action plans where remedial support is needed.
* Managing and originating communications to share best practice, latest developments and celebrate successes around Generous Giving.
* Create and curate resources, delivering talks, reflections, and training sessions on a range of topics. Coaching and mentoring leaders to support development of generous giving practice.
* Work closely with Regional Giving Advisor to promote and roll out national and regional initiatives. Creating and responding to opportunities to promote Giving Scheme and contactless giving.
* Contribute to the development of the overall Giving Vision and the plans which emerge from this.
* Facilitate generosity/giving audits to ascertain strengths and weakness.
* Supporting the development of restricted/capital appeals

Essential
* A working knowledge of fundraising practice and regulation
* Experience of working on organisation/culture change projects.
* Experience of raising funds in a professional or voluntary capacity.
Desirable
* An understanding of structure and ways of working in the Church of England.
* Qualification in fundraising, marketing, or related discipline
* Experience of preaching and teaching
Skill set
* Exceptional communication skills, including ability to deliver presentations and write copy for marketing materials, with ability to adapt approach for different audiences. Collaborative, collegiate approach to working with a broad range of stakeholders.
* Innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
* Strong, demonstrable financial literacy
* Project management skills to prioritise, manage and deliver a broad range of different tasks in a timely and cost-effect manner.
* Able to build and maintain strong relationships with a broad range of people.
* Able to disagree well and encourage people at all levels to think differently about Generous Giving.
* Empathetic and able to adapt communication style and tactics accordingly.
* Tenacious and able to persevere.
* In addition, the post-holder needs to hold a valid driving licence, be prepared to travel and to work flexible hours as it is likely that there will be a number of meetings in evenings and weekends.
This is a full-time permanent post with a salary of GBP36,000. In addition to salary the successful applicant will receive a vey generous pension scheme of 15%, 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays. This role will be a blend of working from home, in office (Salisbury) and at parishes
