Apex Resources are currently recruiting for a Night shift Production Manager for their prestigious manufacturing client in Glasgow South.

This is a permanent role for the correct candidate with a salary of between GBP35,000 plus an attractive bonus package.

This is an excellent long term opportunity to join a long standing manufacturing company as a Night Shift Production Manager. If successful you will report directly to the Operations Manager ensuring that all staff work as effectively and efficiently as possible to provide the maximum profitability and levels of service within the company. Your key responsibilities will be to provide effective leadership in daily site safety, planning and performance of the production factory. This is a night shift role that will require some level of flexibility in order to attend day time training course and meetings etc. The ideal candidate will show flexibility and willingness to work extra hours both during the week and at the weekend, as and when the business would require it. The role itself will require both a hands on and hands off approach. The job requires a level of physicality and can be fairly demanding so good health and fitness is essential.


* To manage, develop & lead the night shift production team

* To manage an efficient shift in line with KPI &budgetary targets

* Understand the KPIs for production & focuses on the team delivering & maximising productivity on a shift/daily/weekly basis.

* To ensure the production team complies with all Company standards when working (Health and Safety, hygiene, etc)

* Works with the senior leadership to ensure continuous improvement plans are in place to drive year on year improvements.

* Line management responsibility for direct reports.

* Ensure regular performance reviews are in place for them.

* Ensure quality standards are maintained in all production areas and appropriate paperwork completed and signed-off.

* Takes responsibility and accountability for resolving all production issues on shift; escalating to the senior management as required.

* Takes collective responsibility for the night shift production team & promotes a team environment to deliver results. Demonstrates leadership and flexibility in the role.

* Maintains all production standards (e.g., Health and Safety, productivity, PPE, behaviour, etc).

* Support the Site Management team in ad-hoc project work & tasks as required

Essential skills and experience:

* Strong experience within a manufacturing environment. Steel processing background advantageous

* Good knowledge of current Health and Safety standards. (IOSH or NEBOSH)

* Good communication skills in order to work with customers, work colleagues and site senior team.

* Fully trained on FLT/ combi lift, Previous experience on moving difficult loads preferred.

* Have a flexible approach to overtime

* Good approach to time keeping and absence

* An understanding of LEAN and Process Improvement techniques

* Ability to influence and solve problems.

* Strong IT, Numeracy and Literacy skills.

* Attention to detail and is a confident decision maker.
