Customer Support Technician

GBP20,000 - GBP26,000 plus bonus, 25 days holiday (extra for birthdays), early Friday finish, health insurance, company share scheme, social events and lots more!

My client, is an exceptional technical innovation company with offices in Buckingham as well as in the USA and Germany. Established more than 29 years ago, they sell their specialist products for the automotive industry to 100 different countries, work with household names including BMW, Ford, Porsche and Ferrari and have been awarded the "Queen's Award for Enterprise".

Due to expansion, they are looking for a Customer Support Technician to join their team in Buckingham on a permanent basis. Due to the nature of the technical products you will be supporting, it's vital that the successful candidate has some knowledge of the automotive industry, such as knowledge of OEM automotive / Motorsport / vehicle CAN / GPS technologies.

My client has an informal but professional culture, they empower their staff to manage their workload and look to avoid micromanagement. You will be part of a small but growing team and excellent training and support is always offered.

The role will be remote (WFH - working from home) initially but ultimately will be based in the office in Buckingham. The hours are 8.45am - 5.30pm with an early Friday finish of 4.30pm. Flexible working can be offered.

The Customer Support Technician - Job Description:

This role involves the technical support of our products by providing telephone, e-mail and Skype based responses to our global customer base and network of distributors.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and is self-motivated, able to work with the minimum of supervision, and has the ability to multi-task

Essential requirements for this role:

Has worked in the OEM automotive or Motorsport industries and has had some experience of vehicle data analysis, vehicle testing or race data analysis/telemetry

A clear, concise writing technique and a polite telephone manner

Customer service experience

Ability to demonstrate a logical approach to troubleshooting

A positive attitude and good team working skills

Full clean UK driving licence

Has the capability to work from home for the duration of COVID-19 social distancing regulations i.e., fast broadband and a working area away from other noise and distractions.

One or more of the following would also be beneficial:

An understanding of vehicle data acquisition techniques

Exposure to vehicle CAN and GPS technologies

Technology testing experience

Basic electronics knowledge
