Delifonseca is an award winning food hall and restaurant, with a love of all things food & drink related. We are currently looking for an assistant deli manager to work mainly in the food hall, although as an integral member of our team you must be willing to jump into other roles on occasion. The role involves working closely with the deli manager to maintain the high standards and smooth operation of the food hall.

Main duties include the following:

• Co-ordinate and supervise deli team to ensure all jobs are carried out in an efficient manner

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable service and engage with customers to encourage good sales

• Work with the team to maintain eye catching and well stocked displays

• Ensure stock levels are maintained and wastage minimised by through accurate stock control and rotation

• Order various stock items in conjunction with the main buyer.

• Receive deliveries and ensure relevant procedures are adhered to.

• Take, process and pack orders whether via phone or online

• Work with the outside catering arm of the business to prepare and present food.

• Use all equipment safely and ensure its proper use

• Maintain high standards of health and safety, hygiene and quality control.

• Respond effectively to customer complaints and feedback

• Till operation (PC based) and cash handling

• Opening/closing the building as required

The job requires excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with an ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing situations. Good time management is crucial. You will be entering into and managing a well established team.

It is essential to understand the importance of good hygiene and a tidy work environment, with a willingness to organise and fully participate in the daily chores.

You will need to have outstanding communication skills, with the ability to handle pressure and multi-task in a fast paced environment. We are passionate about food and so the right candidate will also have a genuine interest in food, able to advise customers and describe tastes/flavours.

We are open 7 days a week from 8am-9pm (9.30am-5pm Sunday), with staff expected on-site for approximately an hour either side of the opening times. This role will be for 5 days a week with varying shift patterns and weekend working is essential, as is the ability to work early and late shifts. Christmas is our busiest time and shifts may be extended earlier or later throughout December to increase our capacity.
