Morson are currently recruiting for a Production Engineer, based in Salisbury. This is a varied role ideally suited to an experienced engineer with a mechanical bias with control and automation experience. Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for the preparation of preparing a project and resource plans to redesign a process from a previous manual machine into the automated plant.

You will be working alongside the existing highly skilled team who are focused to increase the safety, output and reliability of the plant. You will be responsible for the modification of existing systems and processes, leading the design, installation and commissioning of required new tooling and equipment.

Required skills and experience

Mechanical design experience
Produce 3D CAD models and 2D detailed drawings; AutoCad Inventor essential, Autodesk Vault experience desirable.
Working knowledge of automated hydraulic presses, pneumatic control.
Project management experience.
A self-starter who is able to work to agreed schedules and lead assigned projects including design, installation and commissioning.
Full understanding of Design and Process FMEAs.
Strong Analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to influence across all levels of the business.
Experience of working in an automated manufacturing industry.
Degree qualified in an engineering discipline or time served apprentice with a HNC or equivalent qualification.
Desirable skills and experience

Knowledge of Siemens PLCs.
Working knowledge P&IDs
Appreciation of Electrical control protocols.
Working knowledge of Explosive Regulations; ER14.
Experience in Automated Materials Handling or similar regulated controls environment.
Person Specification

Right to live and work in the UK, with ability to obtain SC level clearance (5 years British residency)
Demonstrate in daily activities a commitment to health and safety in the workplace by always ensuring tasks are performed in the safest possible manner
Ensure at all times that you work in compliance with all laws, acts, regulations and policies outlined in all manuals and handbooks, as updated from time to time.
Report all hazards and incidents that the individual is party to, or observes, in the correct manner.
When required or directed, participate in any health and safety training.

This is a 6 month Fixed Term Contract, which is likely to be extended after 6 months
