We are currently recruiting for a Veterinary Nursing Assistant for a Torquay based practice. You do not need to have nursing related qualifications, as training on this side of the position will be given. The most important element of this role is excellent communication ability, and the ability to deal with the customers with empathy when needed.
This role will be really varied, and you will spend some time on the Reception dealing with incoming calls and booking and changing appointments, as well as taking payments. In relation to the more hands on part of the role, you will assist the Vets when they are administering medication, by reassuring the animals and holding them, you will also be trained to check blood pressure and carry out other basic checks. The practice is open from Monday to Friday 9am - 7pm, and on Saturday mornings from 9am - 12 midday. You will be working 38-40 hours per week, within those timings, and will generally do five 7-hour shifts. The shift timings can be negotiated depending on availability, however the more flexibility you have the better. In relation to the Saturday mornings, you will be doing 1 in 6 on a rotational basis.
Typical Shift Start Times - 8.30am, 9am, 10am, 12 midday or 1pm.
Previous Customer Service, or Reception experience would be very relevant for this role. The salary on offer is negotiable, and if you have previous Vitinary experience they may well pay a higher salary. We are keen to move swiftly on this role, so apply today for immediate consideration
