Software Implementation Manager, SQL Server
A Microsoft Gold Partner in Central Oxford requires a Software Implementation Manager with a strong technical background, to oversee a dedicated team, responsible for the delivery of their software products to a range of private and public sector clients throughout the UK.
The Company
Well-known locally, and with a strong reputation for their products UK-wide, the company supplies market-leading software, as well as custom software development services. As a Microsoft Gold Partner, all development within the company is with Microsoft Technologies, and they have been able to attract and retain one of the strongest development teams in the south of England.
With a strong emphasis on learning and self-development, my client provides a library, lunchtime conferences and GBP1000 (and 5 days a year) for training, but also have a very strong social scene, flexible working and up to 35 days' holiday. The Role
As the Software Implementation Manager, your role will be split between managing the team and the work produced by them, and taking control of a number of implementation projects yourself. The technology used is primarily Microsoft SQL Server, with software being deployed onto Windows servers into IIS and the team is responsible for not only deployments, but also upgrades and migrations, as well as architecting, building and monitoring hosted environments. The Software Implementation Manager will ensure the team are trained and supported, and will serve as a point of escalation. Other activities will involve coordinating user testing and penetration testing, whilst also ensuring adherence to process and quality.
What Do I Need?
Solid software implementation experience
Some previous experience of leading and mentoring others
Strong SQL Server database administration skills
A basic understanding of networking, ideally coupled with Windows server/IIS knowledge
Experience with Azure would be an advantage
