A CNC service engineer position has become available with an OEM of machinery. This position offers a strong basic salary, travel time door to door, overtime, overnight allowances, no call out or standby, company vehicle and fuel card, 33 days holiday, a fantastic pension and a lot of other great benefits!
They're a global business with a presence in every continent. They specialize in providing automation and processing solutions to clients across various manufacturing sectors. They have a head office here in the UK for machine storage, refurbishment and distribution, as well as a global headquarters in Europe where the machines are built.
Responsibilities for the role include -
Installation, Commissioning, Maintenance & Service of machines and equipment
Using Siemens S7 to fault find and interrogate
Routine service, checks and breakdown maintenance both mechanical and electrical
Part of a team of 9 engineers, primarily covering the midlands and south east of the UK, but prepared to travel further when required, and occasional overseas travel
Providing end user support to customers as well as training and demonstration delivery
Use of laptop to complete all service and maintenance documentation, and to submit timesheets / expensesThis role represents an excellent opportunity to work in a growing business within a solid and stable market, and will enjoy a high degree of freedom in helping evolve and develop this crucial position.
There's a robust training package with this role too, working for an OEM they offer product training in the UK, and overseas in Europe after the probation period is completed
To be successful in this role you will have -
- Previous experience as a field service engineer working for a similar OEM of capital equipment
- Multi skilled both mechanically and electrically, along with electrical training ideally to city & guilds or equivalent.
- Have a solid understanding of PLC's to fault find on inputs and outputs
- Willingness to travel nationally and show flexibility when required
- Full clean drivers license
The business are prepared to be as flexible and supportive as possible, overnight stays and extensive travel is ideally kept to a minimum, but the business requires an individual who is prepared to do both when necessary. In return the company can be equally flexible when needing time off or working around other engagements
